Day 4 - Survived

Well I am very proud that I managed to stay away from the cake and the pizza yesterday! I sang Happy Birthday and stood with my hands in my pockets while everyone had cake. I stayed for a few minutes then RAN out so I didn't have to spend to much time eyeing the cake. I will say I walked by it a few times in the kitchen and thought hmm I could just have a sliver..I could just taste the frosting. Its funny because the cake that is always brought in is white with fruit with butter cream frosting. I do not eat that kind. I like chocolate with chocolate or at least chocolate with some whip cream frosting. Which is exactly what was brought in yesterday. Temptation at it greatest and I OVERCAME! Score one for me!

Then we had a get together with some of our Life Groups from church at a pizza place. All you can eat pizza for 5$. I paid 7$ to get the salad bar, had 2 salads and some cottage cheese with a half of glass of lemonade. SCORE another for me! I feel really great today knowing I made way better choices than I would have even last week. Then I wake up to find the scale UP today. Way to rain on my parade LOL! But I started af for the first time since I found out I was prego, so I am sure that is affecting me in some way.

Other changes going on....P was offered a part time job at our church. He will be running the high school youth group. He was on staff for almost two years but when the old youth pastor left he decided to stop helping since he was so involved with the band and we were expecting Joe. I am scared and excited as this will be such a big step for our family, stepping up our faith, tithing more, relying on God even more than we do now to help us (ME) get through a few more nights a week that he isn't home. P always assumed he would be employed at a church, but always figured it would be music (he can play anything you put in front of him as well as sing so beautifully) so when this opportunity presented itself, he was shocked. But after much praying we decided he should do it. I found a gal at church to come watch my kids 2 Sundays a month (at night) so I can go help him with youth and be a part of it all. It will be a big stretch for me as I am not really outgoing, have a hard time with crowds, but as always God will stretch me and provide me with what I need to make it work! GOD IS GOOD!
