Day 5 - Back down

Yesterday was another great day on plan. I am thinking "hoping" * praying* the headache I have had all week is gone. Hope I didn't just jinx myself! My weight was back down to what I started this week. I will wait until next Friday to post an official weigh in. Last night I did 20 mins on my elliptical, man that thing makes me sweat! Its always easier when I have some show like Big Brother to rot my brain while working out. If I haven't mentioned it before, I am a reality show junkie. It drives my hubby nuts!

AF is still horrible....but I cant expect much less since its the first one in a year or so.

Tonight is all about cupcakes. I have 70 cupcakes to bake, fill, frost and top with these adorable cherries I made out of fondant for a 1 yr olds birthday tomorrow. I have been really trying to get my cake business going again, since slacking a bit while I was pregnant and not having the energy to bake after working all day. I had two orders for this weekend and I finished the other one last night. 25 cookies for a baby shower as well as made two bow boards (Why do I stay up so late LOL). I am having a tasting at my house in early Sept where I will make a bunch of my goodies, invite a ton of people to come taste and hopefully this will spark some orders. I found a bunch of new recipes to try for fall and winter.

I forgot my lunch today, so I hope I have enough random stuff here to eat for the day. I know I have a fiber bar, some grapes and cucumbers...hopefully I have some protein in my bag too!

Day 4 - Survived

Well I am very proud that I managed to stay away from the cake and the pizza yesterday! I sang Happy Birthday and stood with my hands in my pockets while everyone had cake. I stayed for a few minutes then RAN out so I didn't have to spend to much time eyeing the cake. I will say I walked by it a few times in the kitchen and thought hmm I could just have a sliver..I could just taste the frosting. Its funny because the cake that is always brought in is white with fruit with butter cream frosting. I do not eat that kind. I like chocolate with chocolate or at least chocolate with some whip cream frosting. Which is exactly what was brought in yesterday. Temptation at it greatest and I OVERCAME! Score one for me!

Then we had a get together with some of our Life Groups from church at a pizza place. All you can eat pizza for 5$. I paid 7$ to get the salad bar, had 2 salads and some cottage cheese with a half of glass of lemonade. SCORE another for me! I feel really great today knowing I made way better choices than I would have even last week. Then I wake up to find the scale UP today. Way to rain on my parade LOL! But I started af for the first time since I found out I was prego, so I am sure that is affecting me in some way.

Other changes going on....P was offered a part time job at our church. He will be running the high school youth group. He was on staff for almost two years but when the old youth pastor left he decided to stop helping since he was so involved with the band and we were expecting Joe. I am scared and excited as this will be such a big step for our family, stepping up our faith, tithing more, relying on God even more than we do now to help us (ME) get through a few more nights a week that he isn't home. P always assumed he would be employed at a church, but always figured it would be music (he can play anything you put in front of him as well as sing so beautifully) so when this opportunity presented itself, he was shocked. But after much praying we decided he should do it. I found a gal at church to come watch my kids 2 Sundays a month (at night) so I can go help him with youth and be a part of it all. It will be a big stretch for me as I am not really outgoing, have a hard time with crowds, but as always God will stretch me and provide me with what I need to make it work! GOD IS GOOD!

cake

I dont need cake, I dont want cake, it makes me fat, say NO to the cake, back away from the cake!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Edited** I made it NO CAKE! now onto dinner. Pizza with a group from church. I am having salad and water. GO ME! NO PIZZA NO PIZZA! It will be easier tonight, hubby is with me..he will STOP me if I get grabby :)

Day 3 - Choosing my HARD

Yesterday was rough. My day of no carbs. I guess I never realized how much I ate carbs on any given day. I stayed on plan 100%. Some cottage cheese, grapes, an apple, cobb salad for dinner with steak and lots of veggies. (more fruit than I have eaten in months - I do not like most fruit)

Today there will be cake...chocolate cake. It will take ALL the willpower I HAVE to say no thanks. Its my bosses birthday but I CANT mess up on day 3. That's how my downfalls begin. Just one small piece of cake leads me to too many crackers which leads to the next day starting with a starbucks etc. SO NO CAKE FOR ME! I can do this. I am strong. I AM CHOOSING MY HARD. See Lyns post from Monday. She speaks to me...so many of her posts make me cry, make me think....hit me right where I need it! Thanks Lyn!

I got up and walked this morning, another 2 miles....creeping back down to 212 I had hit a few weeks ago. So I think tomorrow I will be back there and start over fresh next week with a real loss!

Day 2 - carbless

Feeling really great. This is why I eat right, I feel better, DUH! Reminding myself of this is always my biggest struggle. Remembering that when I put healthy things into my body I feel so much better..healthy, energetic, I wake up easier in the morning, that skinnier feeling even though you haven't lost any weight.

I made sure to go bed early so I could get up and walk/jog this morning. Josiah had his longest night of sleep (WOOHOO) from 9:30-5. I got up and fed him and figured since I was up, I might as well get on with my exercise instead of going back to bed for 30 mins. I walked/jogged 2 miles. The air was cool and it felt great...despite my sore knees, pain in my side and no ipod! But I did it and am already sore! I had a about 30 extra minutes of time this morning so there was no rushing around getting everyone ready. I plan to do the same tomorrow. Although 5am is REALLY EARLY...I like the way I feel right now.

I made it with no soda and no dessert last night. I will say the no dessert was hard. I kept thinking of things I wanted...trying to justify them, but managed to battle through and not have anything. I got some feta cheese to add with spinach and brown rice for dinner this week and as I was packing my lunch I thought mmm that would be good with some grapes. So that's what I had for breakfast on my way to work. feta cheese and grapes! Yum it was tasty!

I have decided to do every other day with no carbs just to help kick my body into gear a bit faster, so today is no carb (besides fruit)

so here's to day 2!!

Day One gone...but not forgotten

Ugh so I was having problems sticking to my diet....getting to my computer to post....had out of town company....ahh well I have no good excuses!

Saw a friend of mine yesterday, she is looking GREAT and got me motivated to get moving again. I know I will feel better once I get 5-10lbs of weight off.

I am back at work today, so far 100% on plan.So here's to a fresh start! Tomorrow morning I am going to get up at 6am to walk/jog for 30 mins and work on getting ALL my water drank and cutting out my soda again (even though its diet, It cant be helping).

So my goals for this week are:
1. Get up and work out for 30 mins each morning
2. Drink at least 50oz of water
3. No soda or dessert

down a bit more

Well the weight is not magically falling off....but its slowly getting outa here. Down 1.2 today. I was hoping for more of a total loss for the month of June, but at least I lost some...and some is better than none. 5lbs. I need to get moving. I have my 10K in 3 and a 1/2 weeks and am lagging big time in getting moving for that. I just cant find the time. With not getting solid sleep at night (baby) I am not sure waking up at 6am to go run would work, during the day its over 100 and with 3 kids walking just wont happen, and at night P is busy half the time so that's a challenge too. I know excuses excuses. I need to just MAKE IT HAPPEN!

Tonight we are taking the kids to see Toy Story 3. I am just as excited as they are!!
